KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL

 

Kannawidan is a yearly celebration where people from Ilocos Sur show their culture by showcasing cultural shows, native products and talents of Ilocano people.

          Kannawidan Ylocos Festival has the objective to display the preserved cultures and beautiful landmarks here in Ilocos. Some cultural traditions and shows are being showcased. In Quirino Stadium, you can see different products from different parts of Ilocos, also called as One Town, One Product. Kannawidan is also the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province. This shows that Ilocos Sur can be a more successful province and can stand with her own feet. In addition, it can help us promote ancient cultures and traditions of Ilocanos.

          I hope that this year’s Kannawidan Ylocos Festival willbecome successful and that this will continue for the next consecutive years.

NEW YEAR, NEW ME?

 

         There is no permanent in this world. Everything changes – the way we look physically, the things we want to change emotionally and characteristics that we wanted to improve.

 Celebrating New Year doesn’t mean that you have to change everything or something on you. You just have to become better and improve something about your physical characteristics or attitudes. There’s no harm in trying to improve you or expressing yourself. It’s because changing or improving for the better will help us be a more developed person. We can think and make decisions more confident than before.

          As an opinion, having those New Year’s Resolutions is not bad. Because of that you can become a better person but if you don’t follow those resolutions, those will become useless.

          New Year, New Me? Just change for the better.

THRILLING RIDE OF MY THIRD QUARTER

              Three down, one left.

          Third quarter was just the continuation of our lessons about HTML. We learned how to add images in our HTML files. Moreover, we learned about the tags used in adding images and also hyperlinks.

          This quarter was fun just like the first two quarters. I had fun making those exercises that our teacher gave us. Sometimes, I encounter some problems about adding images but I crossed them successfully. We learned also about the parts of FrontPage and it’s hard for me to remember.

          I hope that this coming Fourth quarter will be more exciting and happier.

          

GIVE. SHARE. LOVE.

          Since –BER months have started, people are busy making and garnishing their houses with different kinds of Christmas ornaments and decorations. Some also are putting up their Christmas trees and lights. In addition, some are buying gifts for Christmas.

But do people really know the true spirit of Christmas? Or they’re just concentrating in setting up decorations in their houses? Nowadays, individuals tend to forget the true essence of Christmas. Yuletide season is the time of giving and sharing whatever you have without thinking its exchange. Moreover, sharing love to people who lack understanding and giving importance to people who lost their folks. It is not all about having fun but also sharing everything you want. Let us also remember Jesus Christ who is really the core of this celebration.

          It’s not difficult to give, share and love. Don’t forget to give and share something to others Christmas season is not all about buying things and decorating ornaments but also loving, sharing, giving and remembering the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED

 Nowadays, Earth is suffering many types of problems – problems which cause it to become polluted or making it a destroyed planet.  During the ancient times, the Earth had been beautiful but when discoveries of man came, the Earth becomes a planet full of damages.

One of the main problems the Earth has been experiencing is that what we call climate change.  This happens due to the wrong activities men are doing. As a result, climate change occurs. Climate change is the phenomenon where in the temperature or environment that we are experiencing is different from before. Because of this, we experience climate change a lot. Many people are affected by this such as flash floods and tidal waves in some countries.

          If man continues doing things that will make Earth a destroyed one, the human race will suffer more and eventually many people around the world will die.

Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities For All

      Men and women nowadays have equality in all aspects of life. This means that whatever work a man does, a woman can also do that work and vice versa. Unlike on ancient times that man is more powerful than woman.

      Gender equality gives equal rights and equal opportunities for both men and women. Equal rights for them because they have the right to live and do whatever they want to do and Equal opportunities because anything that can be given to a man must be given also to a woman and vice versa. Having equal rights and opportunities for all people all over the world can lead to the unity of all nations. If people can attain unity, nations in the world could become better.

      Equal rights and equal opportunities give us more effective way of living and respect to all human beings in the human race.

English Language for Worldwide Happiness

      English language is known for being the universal language. Many people can understand it and uses it to communicate with other people having different nationality and language.

          Nowadays, many Filipinos are working abroad to have a job in order to sustain their own families. But there are times that they can’t go abroad because of the lack of English language proficiency. Some can’t understand the so-called universal language. So people not only here in the Philippines must know and understand the English language. Having this kind of situation really proves that English is a worldwide language.

          Going global through English language may be also one way of having peaceful life and making all countries a united one. It makes people with different languages understand what they are really telling about.
